About the role

The Operations Manager oversees daily business operations at a trucking and drayage facility, ensuring efficiency, productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction. This role involves managing operational processes, leading teams, monitoring KPIs, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee day-to-day operational activities across departments.
  • Develop, implement, and improve operational policies, procedures, and workflows.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare operational reports.
  • Lead, coach, and develop team members to achieve performance objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop strategic operational plans.
  • Manage budgets, control costs, and identify opportunities for increased efficiency.
  • Cook up cross-functional projects and initiatives.
  • Resolve operational issues and implement corrective actions when needed.
  • Maintain high levels of customer service and operational excellence.
  • Analyze business processes and recommend improvements to enhance productivity and profitability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of operations management or leadership experience.
  • Trucking experience required.
  • Drayage experience strongly desired.
  • Strong knowledge of operational processes and business management principles.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and performance management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and business management software.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
