About the role
The Intermittent CILA Manager/QIDP provides case management, supervision, and training to staff and persons served in the Intermittent CILA program. They also lead the interdisciplinary team in planning individualized programs, evaluating service effectiveness, and ensuring services comply with legal and agency standards.
Responsibilities
- Facilitates the development and implementation of Person Centered Plans (PCPs) and implementation strategies, incorporating normalization, choice, community inclusion, self-empowerment, active treatment, and functional skill development.
- Directs the implementation of PCPs and implementation strategies, re-evaluating objectives and training methods monthly, and recommending changes to the IDT as needed.
- Maintains ongoing communication with the IDT and serves as a role model, encouraging independence and decision-making skills in staff and persons served.
- Administers services in compliance with agency policies and procedures, communicating standards regarding accreditation, licensure, and certification to staff.
- Trains and assists persons served in various life skills such as budgeting, grocery shopping, personal care, health care, medication training, housing procurement, and vocational skills.
- Assures that data/information is recorded and reported in a timely manner, completing monthly reviews and accident/incident reports.
- Maintains positive communication with other programs and agencies, facilitating coordinated service delivery.
- Ensures that files for persons served are maintained and updated, meeting licensure/certification/accreditation standards.
- Communicates information verbally and in writing as required, and completes quality assurance forms according to established time frames.
- Counsels persons served relative to personal problems and coordinates activities/documentation as needed to maintain entitlements.
- Completes at least 12 hours of Continuing Education Units each year and participates in agency in-service training sessions as assigned.
- Administers standard first aid and CPR procedures on an as-needed basis, maintaining current certifications.
- Performs special projects or other related work within the scope of the job responsibilities as required or requested.
- Monitors the primary work area to ensure basic housekeeping and sanitation procedures are performed daily.
- Communicates, retains, and releases information on a need-to-know basis, adhering to confidentiality laws and agency policies.
- Enforces MRI Safety Policies and Procedures and monitors the safety of staff, persons/families served, agency guests, and agency property.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree in human services or related field.
- Minimum of two years’ experience with the developmentally disabled and mental illness.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to safety policies and procedures.
- Ability to complete MRI training requirements and obtain first-aid and CPR certification within 60 days of employment.
- Thorough understanding of developmental disabilities, mental illness, normalization, inclusion, least restrictive environment, choice, integration, self-empowerment, and functional skill development.
- Ability to make sound clinical judgments and adapt to frequent change.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work, work flexible hours, and work with diverse populations.
- Physical capabilities to lift and carry 50 pounds, assist in lifting and transferring individuals, and perform tasks requiring full range of mobility.
Qualifications
- Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP).
- Ability to work cooperatively with persons served, other service organizations, and staff of MRI.
- Ability to summarize, synthesize, and analyze data/information.
