Intermediate Epic Ambulatory Clinical Analyst

Responsibilities

  • Maintain clinical and business systems to support patient care delivery.
  • Analyze business problems and recommend solutions that align with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with clinicians and end users to design, build, test, train, implement, evaluate, and maintain Epic and other associated systems.
  • Coordinate with physicians and end users to document workflows, perform gap analysis, and develop future workflows during new implementations.
  • Communicate effectively with hospital leadership, clinicians, physicians, and ancillary department staff.
  • Actively participate in project, team, departmental, and other meetings, reporting status updates, accomplishments, tasks, and barriers to the manager.
  • Design, build, and configure within assigned Epic system modules and supporting third-party applications.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with all stakeholders, capturing business and technical requirements.
  • Assess workflow processes, identify gaps, define necessary process changes, and develop future workflows related to new solutions or functionality.
  • Develop test scripts and materials for end-to-end workflow testing, perform unit, system, and integration testing, and document outcomes.
  • Remain current on industry trends and vendor/application/system updates, ensuring software modifications/upgrades work according to Epic specifications.
  • Follow departmental standards for software configuration control, quality assurance, and version releases, providing documentation and training on system upgrades and new releases.
  • Troubleshoot issues or system deficiencies, initiate escalation procedures, and provide recommendations for resolution.
  • Participate in multiple cross-functional projects, utilizing project planning and coordination procedures, tools, and lean methodologies.
  • Provide guidance and act as a resource for other analysts, project managers, and consultants.
  • Provide on-call support in a 24/7 production systems environment, acting as the primary support contact for the application's end-users.

Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft suite of products
  • EMR application/implementation experience
  • Demonstrated creative problem-solving approach and strong analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience communicating complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience
  • Experience in clinical or technical work

Skills

  • Knowledge of clinical/technical workflow (preferred)

Education

  • Associate's in Business or a healthcare related field (required)
  • Bachelor's degree (preferred)
