Essential Functions
- Oversee assigned public health program area;
- Supervise staff in program area;
- Mentor program staff and provide guidance and direction to complete assignments;
- Prepare written reports and oral presentations;
- Stay informed on best practices in program area;
- Develop educational materials related to assigned program area (fact sheets, brochures, newsletters, etc.);
- Prepare grants, develop funding proposals and budgets;
- Perform job duties in a way that promotes a positive image of the City organization and delivers exemplary customer service skills;
- Keep managers and department director apprised of activities in assigned program area;
- Perform work during emergency, disaster or communicable disease incidents 24/7 as required;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a social science or related field with an additional 2 years’ experience in public health.
- Master's degree in Public Health or related field preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds;
- Frequently carry up to 10 pounds and occasionally carry up to 25 pounds;
- Occasionally stand and walk;
- Occasionally kneel;
- Occasionally pull or push objects;
- Occasionally rotate upper trunk to right or left while sitting or standing;
- Occasionally reach above, at, or below shoulder height;
- Frequently handle objects;
- Cordinate eye, hand, and foot movement in order to operate a vehicle.
