About the role

As an Interiors Estimator at Granger Granger Construction, you'll play a critical role in the preconstruction process by developing accurate, competitive estimates for interior construction projects. Your responsibilities extend beyond estimating, as you'll help support business growth by building industry relationships, identifying new opportunities, and staying attuned to emerging market trends.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for interior construction projects
  • Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to identify scope requirements, risks, and opportunities
  • Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and supplier proposals
  • Develop scopes of work and assist in preparing complete bid packages
  • Collaborate with Operations and Project Management teams to ensure seamless project handoffs
  • Participate in value engineering efforts and identify cost-saving opportunities for customers and project teams
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and industry partners
  • Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities, assisting with customer outreach, and helping grow relationships with new and existing clients
  • Research market trends, industry developments, and emerging market opportunities to support strategic growth initiatives within the Interiors Division
  • Participate in bid-day activities, proposal preparation, and project pursuit strategies

Qualifications

  • You have a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
  • You have estimating, project engineering, project management, or related construction experience
  • You have strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • You have strong relationship-building and customer service abilities
  • You have the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office and construction-related technology platforms
  • You have a proactive mindset with the ability to anticipate needs, identify opportunities, and take initiative

Skills

  • Experience with commercial interiors construction, including drywall, ceilings, finishes, carpentry, or specialty trades
  • Experience with estimating software and digital takeoff platforms such as Procore, Viewpoint, Bluebeam, or similar construction technologies
  • Experience with business development, customer relationship management, or networking within the construction industry
  • Experience with market analysis, strategic planning, or identifying emerging business opportunities
  • A builder's mindset and passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences
