Responsibilities
- Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for projects under various delivery methods.
- Perform accurate quantity takeoffs and develop complete estimates for self-perform scopes in Tenant Improvement and renovation work, including but not limited to Divisions 6 (Rough Carpentry), 8 (Doors, Frames, & Hardware), 9 (Gypsum Board Assemblies, flooring, and painting), 10 (Miscellaneous installations and accessories), 13 (HAC and Racking in Data Center sectors) among other self-perform scopes on a variety of project types.
- Solicit Subcontractor and/or Vendor quotes and evaluate them for scope and qualifications to ensure full scope coverage when submitting proposals as General Contractor.
- Prepare responses to Request for Qualifications and Request for Proposals.
- Maintain and monitor comparison of estimated costs to actual costs on current projects to refine future bidding accuracy.
- Lead activities related to contract administration, change orders, procurement of materials, and financial reporting.
- Manage submittals, project-specific work plans, and safety protocols for onsite crews with the help of the Superintendent and lead Foreman.
- Cover coordination, submittals, and execution of active self-perform projects.
- Coordinate work activity with owners, consultants, and trade partners to ensure schedule adherence.
- Oversee project close-out, including as-builts, warranties, and final subcontractor payments.
- Foster relationships with design firms and owners to secure repeat business for Tekton BSG.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering (Civil, Structural, or Architectural preferred), building science, construction management, or a related discipline.
- 4+ years of construction experience with a general contractor or specialty subcontractor experience, with direct project management and estimator experience.
- Experience managing projects successfully and a proven ability to perform detailed takeoffs, read complex contract drawings, and price labor/materials for interior trades.
- Resourceful in evolving environments, comfortable in taking initiative, highly organized, and driven to grow a business.
- Strong work ethic, leadership, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements
- You will work in both an office setting and on active construction sites.
- In the office, you should be comfortable in a professional setting and with prolonged periods of focused work, whether it's collaborating with colleagues, analyzing data, or developing strategies.
- On the jobsite, you can expect to be on your feet frequently, navigating active job sites with uneven terrain, stairs, ladders, and hoists.
- The work is physically demanding and requires a full range of motion, including bending, kneeling, and reaching.
- You’ll need to be comfortable lifting and carrying materials up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment
- You will spend both in an office setting workspace and on active construction site visits.
- This means being adaptable to all kinds of environments.
- These environments are naturally more dynamic and can include exposure to outdoor weather conditions, louder noise, and moving equipment.

- For this role the base salary range is $50,000 - 130,000. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.
