About the role
This position is available at West Star Aviation, a rapidly expanding MRO provider with multiple facilities across the United States. As an Interior Finish Technician, you will be responsible for applying finishes to aircraft interiors, including wood finishes, gloss, and satin applications, and sanding as needed.
Responsibilities
- Assist with paint and techniques for major modification projects
- Identify colors and color matches as needed
- Basic knowledge of stains, lacquers, clear coats, etc.
- Basic knowledge in chemicals (thinners, catalysts, cleaners, etc.) and safety procedures
- Knowledge of dry sanding and wet sanding, etc.
- Maintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment and tooling
- Basic computer skills to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases
- Cleanliness of shop and surroundings
- Work independently when required
- Effectively and clearly communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in English
- Perform any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management
Requirements
- A High school diploma or equivalent
- A valid drivers license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not required
- Experience: Technician I: 0-2 years, Technician II: 2-4 years, Technician III: 5+ years in wood finishing processes on aircraft
- Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable transportation to get to work each and every day
- Pass a respirator fit test
Qualifications
- Understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines including but not limited to OSHA, Hazmat, etc.
- Work with others in a professional manner
- Read and comprehend various documents
- Plan and organize procedures and operations
Skills
