Responsibilities

• Fabricate complex high quality furniture and other wood-surfaced subassemblies for installation in world class business aircraft
• Perform parts replacements or repair, basic electrical system installation and general mechanical applications
• Conduct modifications, repair, refurbishment and fabrication of aircraft cabinets
• Remove and install cabinets, perform modifications, re-laminating, veneering or fabrication of new cabinets
• Perform minor modifications
• Complete daily turnover sheets
• Maintain and repair shop facility, equipment and tooling
• Navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases using basic computer skills
• Maintain cleanliness of shop and surroundings
• Work independently when required
• Effectively and clearly communicate (speak, write, read) in English
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience Levels

• Tech I: 0–2 years of experience in aviation, auto, RV, marine or related field. Limited to no knowledge of the position; requires close supervision and constant check-ins on work performance.
• Tech II: 2–4 years of experience in aviation, auto, RV, marine or related field. Considerable knowledge of the job with a broad understanding of detailed aspects; requires general supervision and instructions.
• Tech III: 4–6 years of experience in aviation, auto, RV, marine or related field. Full knowledge of the job with complete understanding of detailed aspects; requires limited supervision and can act as a trainer or mentor to other technicians.
• Master Tech: 6+ years of experience in aviation interiors. Exclusive knowledge in all areas of the job; subject matter expert with wide and comprehensive knowledge; requires no instruction and can mentor others.

Your Sense of Responsibility

• Attend work every day as scheduled, including overtime and weekend assignments
• Notify supervisor in advance of shift starting if unable to work
• Have reliable transportation to get to work each day
• Perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines
• Follow all company and safety rules during performance of duties
• Maintain customer-oriented work habits
• Assist in major modification work as needed

Physical Requirements

• Lift up to 50 lbs
• Routine walking, bending, squatting or sitting
• Repetitive physical motion with arms and hands with emphasis on grasping, feeling and finger dexterity
• Stand for long periods of time
• Climb ladders and stairs; work in small restricted areas

Mental Requirements

• Understand and implement regulations and guidelines including OSHA, Hazmat, etc.
• Work with others in a professional manner
• Read and comprehend various documents
• Plan and organize procedures and operations

Supervision

• Work under supervision of assigned Team Leader and Interior Management
• May be directed to supervise other technicians in some capacity
• Work with minimal supervision when required

Working Conditions

• Majority of work performed in a hangar or shop environment
• Occasional work outside on the ramp
• Varied positions in and around the aircraft

Equipment Used

• Personal hand tools supplied by the mechanic
• Electrical power tools such as sanders, saws, power drills, etc.
• Computer, copy machine, etc.
