Interim Senior Manager - Accounting
About the role
Are you an experienced accounting professional with a passion for the energy industry? We're seeking a dynamic and skilled Permanent Interim Accounting Director to join our team. This position is a unique opportunity to contribute to our company’s financial health and growth. You will be a key player in the management of our financial operations, providing leadership and coordination in the administrative, business planning, accounting, and budgeting efforts of the company.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing daily operations of the corporate accounting department.
- Directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions.
- Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results.
- Coinciding and preparing internal and external financial statements.
- Coinciding activities of external auditors.
- Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process.
- Managing the budget process.
- Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes.
- Evaluating accounting and internal control systems.
- Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed.
- Developing and monitoring business performance metrics.
- Overseeing regulatory reporting, including tax planning and compliance.
- Hiring, training, and retaining skilled accounting staff.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate accounting with a proven track record of success.
- Proficiency in Oracle or similar financial software.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, confidence, and executive presence—ability to train and manage staff.
- Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
- Significant experience in the energy industry.
- Thorough knowledge of corporate accounting principles, procedures, and legislation.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Impeccable attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
