Interim Perinatal Nursing Practice Specialist

About the role

The Interim Perinatal Nursing Practice Specialist will oversee day-to-day operations across three units: Labor & Delivery, Mother and Baby, and Lactation. This leadership role focuses on quality and performance improvement, patient experience, and ongoing departmental initiatives such as phase 1 recovery, a postpartum hemorrhage project, and quality metrics. The specialist will foster a positive work environment through communication, collaboration, and engagement while ensuring adherence to ACOG/AWHONN standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight of day-to-day operations in Labor & Delivery, Mother and Baby, and Lactation units
  • Lead quality and performance improvement initiatives
  • Focus on patient experience, satisfaction, and departmental quality metrics
  • Oversee phase 1 recovery and a pre-existing postpartum hemorrhage project
  • Foster a positive work environment with strong communication and collaboration
  • Ensure compliance with ACOG/AWHONN standards

Requirements

  • BSN required; MSN strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Labor & Delivery and/or Women’s Services
  • Must be available to start within 2–3 weeks of acceptance

Pay

Compensation range: $160,000 to $170,000 annually. The final rate will be determined based on experience, education, training, location, internal equity, and budget considerations.
