About the Role
The Perinatal Outpatient Clinician provides assessment, psychotherapy, care coordination, and support to individuals during pregnancy and postpartum. They address behavioral health concerns such as depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use, and relationship challenges related to pregnancy, childbirth, infertility, loss, and early parenting. The role involves collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, medical providers, and community partners to promote emotional well-being in a compassionate, trauma-informed outpatient setting.
Qualifications & Skills
- Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, Psychology, or related field
- Current licensure or license-eligibility in CT (e.g., LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LPC, LMFT, Psychologist)
- Knowledge of perinatal mood disorders and maternal mental health
- Experience with trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and team collaboration
- Strong clinical judgment, organization, communication, and independent work skills
- Commitment to patient-centered, culturally responsive care
Preferred Qualifications
- Perinatal mental health certification or specialized training
- Experience working with perinatal populations, trauma, attachment, or family systems
- Outpatient psychotherapy experience
- Collaboration with medical providers
- Bilingual skills and familiarity with evidence-based treatments like CBT, DBT, ACT
- Knowledge of substance use disorders and LGBTQ+ competent care
