Interim Lab Supervisor

Employment Type: Part‑time | Location: St. Peter’s Hospital, Albany, NY | Start Date: ASAP

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage general operational functions at one or several sites (Albany Memorial, Samaritan, St. Mary’s Campus, or St. Peter’s Hospital).
• Organize and coordinate day‑to‑day laboratory services, including staffing, scheduling, training, and timely test performance.
• Oversee budgeting, materials management, performance appraisals, and overall oversight of the site’s test menu and turnaround times.
• Collaborate closely with the SPHP Manager of each clinical section/site to coordinate daily activities.
• Apply and contribute to St. Peter’s Health Partners’ mission and values in all duties.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and certificate from a school of medical technology, or equivalent qualification meeting NYS Department of Health supervisory standards.
• Prefer certification by a nationally recognized clinical laboratory certifying agency.
• Valid New York State License (Department of Education) as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist (CLT).
• Six years of laboratory experience required.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with technology related to practice in the assigned section.

Pay

Gross Weekly Rate: $4,000

Schedule

• Monday‑Friday
• Evenings (5 × 8‑hour shift)
• 13‑week assignment
