Fractional Chief Compliance Officer We have partnered with a private equity client in its search for a Fractional Chief Compliance Officer.This engagement is expected to begin at approximately 20 hours per week for the first one to two months and then ramp up to approximately 40 hours per week as the scope expands. The initial engagement is expected to last at least six months, with the possibility of conversion to a permanent position.The search is moving quickly, and candidates must be available to begin immediately or become available on short notice. Key Requirements Candidates must have:Recent compliance leadership experience directly within a private equity firmExperience supporting an SEC-registered investment adviserStrong knowledge of the formal compliance requirements applicable to private equity funds and investment advisersAvailability to begin at approximately 20 hours per week and ramp up to approximately 40 hours per week within the first one to two monthsThe ability to work primarily remotely and travel to the New York City office at least once per monthPreference will be given to candidates located in the New York City metropolitan areaRequired recent private equity and registered investment adviser experience Responsibilities Lead and manage the full compliance function for a private equity firm and registered investment adviserOversee ongoing compliance obligations, including quarterly and annual certifications, annual compliance reviews, employee attestations, and recurring compliance calendar requirementsReview, update, and maintain the firm's compliance manual, policies, procedures, and code of ethicsManage compliance requirements relating to political contributions, gifts and entertainment, personal trading, material nonpublic information, marketing materials, employee onboarding, and regulatory developmentsLead or support Rule 206(4)-7 annual reviews, mock SEC examinations, regulatory implementation, and SEC examination readinessPartner with senior leadership, outside counsel, compliance consultants, and internal stakeholdersHelp stabilize the compliance function, reduce reliance on outside resources, and determine the appropriate long-term compliance structureProvide practical, hands-on guidance and address compliance matters as they arise Skills Required Prior experience serving as a Chief Compliance Officer, Fractional Chief Compliance Officer, or senior compliance leader within a private equity firmRecent experience supporting an SEC-registered investment adviserStrong understanding of private equity compliance programs and investment adviser regulatory obligationsKnowledge of Rule 206(4)-7, code of ethics testing, employee certifications, marketing review, personal trading, MNPI, political contributions, and SEC examination readinessAbility to work independently in a lean, fast-moving environmentPractical and business-minded approach to complianceStrong judgment and the ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership Education and Experience Education: Bachelor's degree required.Experience: Recent private equity compliance experience and prior responsibility for the compliance program of a registered investment adviser are required.Location: Primarily remote, with required travel to the New York City office at least once per month. Preference will be given to candidates located in the New York City metropolitan area.Schedule: Approximately 20 hours per week for the first one to two months, ramping up to approximately 40 hours per week thereafter.Engagement Length: At least six months, with the possibility of it becoming temp to permanent employment.
