About the role
Masters Academy International is New England’s only school that combines top-tier sports and academics to prepare future leaders who excel in athletics, academics, and life. As a lead instructor, you will guide student-athletes in grades 6–12 through interdisciplinary, project-based learning that connects multiple disciplines to real-world challenges.
Responsibilities
- Design and facilitate engaging units that connect multiple disciplines to real-world challenges.
- Support student-driven inquiry and scaffold research, collaboration, and critical-thinking skills.
- Lead class sessions and small-group work, mentoring students, fostering social-emotional growth, and helping them balance the demands of academics and elite athletics.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure coherence across units and grades, create a classroom culture that emphasizes curiosity and respect, and communicate proactively with students, families, and peers to support student progress and success.
Requirements
- Experience in teaching interdisciplinary, project-based learning.
- Intellectual curiosity and the ability to connect concepts across disciplines.
- A passion for guiding student-athletes in developing resilience, balance, and confidence.
- Commitment to lifelong learning and innovation, embracing new ideas and using technology purposefully.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in education or related field.
- At least 3 years of teaching experience.
- Experience working with student-athletes and understanding the unique demands they face.
- Ability to foster a classroom culture that emphasizes curiosity and respect.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
