Interconnection Specialist, Advisor (ERCOT)

What You Will Deliver
End-to-End Interconnection Ownership: Manage ERCOT interconnection projects through all study phases, ensuring milestones, submissions, deposits, and deadlines are met
Schedule & Risk Management: Track and protect critical-path timelines; identify risks early and actively drive mitigation strategies
ERCOT & Utility Interface: Serve as the primary point of contact with ERCOT and utilities, clarifying requirements and resolving issues that impact project progression
Study Interpretation & Action: Translate ERCOT study results into actionable insights, guiding project decisions and next steps
Stakeholder Coordination: Partner across development, engineering, and commercial teams to align execution and maintain project momentum
Execution Under Pressure: Manage multiple active projects with high visibility, ensuring no loss of position due to missed deadlines or slow response
Issue Resolution & Escalation: Challenge assumptions, push back when needed, and escalate effectively to keep projects moving forward
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field with 10 years of experience of interconnection, including direct ERCOT experience
Proven experience managing interconnection processes end-to-end, including timelines, submissions, and study phases
Strong understanding of ERCOT interconnection processes, milestones, and deadlines
Ability to interpret interconnection study results and translate them into business actions
Demonstrated ability to challenge utility or ISO assumptions professionally and drive outcomes
Strong execution mindset with the ability of working in high-complexity, multi-project environments with strong timeline accountability
Strong collaboration and communication skills across internal and external stakeholders
Self-directed execution style with the ability to solve problems independently and escalate when needed
Additional Details
This role is eligible for our hybrid in-office work policy and is not eligible for remote work
Must be available to travel domestically up to 30% of the time in state and with the need for some overnight trips
Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record; for the ability to drive to meetings, trainings, and conferences
Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
Pay
Salary Range: $135,000 – $206,885 USD annually
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
