About the role
This is a hands-on, field-based role supporting commercial and educational facility projects across the Greater Hampton Roads and Richmond areas.
Responsibilities
- Lead and complete intercom and paging system installations from start to finish
- Install, configure, troubleshoot, and service analog and IP-based paging systems
- Oversee job sites to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to company standards
- Read and interpret project documentation, drawings, and specifications
- Coincordinate with project managers, office staff, clients, and other trades
- Perform system testing, programming, commissioning, and documentation
- Troubleshoot hardware, cabling, networking, and system performance issues
- Train and mentor junior technicians
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience installing and troubleshooting commercial intercom and paging systems
- Experience with systems such as: Valcom (preferred), Bogen, Dukane, Other comparable analog and IP paging platforms
- Basic computer and networking knowledge
- Familiarity with structured cabling and commercial construction environments
- Experience reading technical documentation and project drawings
- Manufacturer or industry-specific training preferred
- Experience with educational or commercial facility environments is a plus
Additional Requirements
- Own basic industry tools
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
- Ability to pass a background check and become DCJS licensed
- Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and active construction sites
- Ability to safely operate hand tools and power tools
- Ability to work under pressure, adapt to changing project needs, and meet deadlines
