Intelligence Specialist (Operations).

About the Role

This position involves developing analytic techniques to support full-spectrum military Cryptologic Cyberspace operations, conducting Cyber Warfare targeting, and advising senior leadership on intelligence gaps.

Responsibilities

• Develop analytic techniques to gain in-depth target information while conducting full-spectrum military Cryptologic Cyberspace operations.
• Conduct Cyber Warfare targeting to ensure friendly freedom of action in Cyberspace and deny the same to adversaries.
• Document and disseminate analytic findings in Cyber Warfare in support of Full-spectrum Operations.
• Conduct quality control to determine validity, relevance, and priority of Intelligence information gathered about networks.
• Advise senior leadership of intelligence gaps discovered through regular review of message traffic, intelligence information, and data analysis.
• Write and deliver technical and information briefings in support of mission priorities.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
• Must undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.
• A two-year trial period may be required.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance based on a Single-Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
• Must be able to obtain and maintain access to National Security Agency (NSA) facilities and networks.
• Temporary duty (TDY) travel may be required 25% or less.
• May be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.
• May be subject to short notice expanded hours, possible recall situations, and irregular work hours, including weekends/holidays.
• Overtime/shift work may be required.
• Position is considered Non-Combat Essential (NCE) and may be assigned to any location worldwide during periods of increased tension and mobilization.
• Must sign a DD Form 2365 acknowledging maintenance of certain levels of medical, security, performance, conduct, and overall fitness for assignment to austere and stressful combat environments.
• Position is designated Mission Essential; incumbent must remain on duty or report to duty on time during emergency and/or crisis situations.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Direct deposit of pay is required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes:

• Developing query strategies to conduct Cyber Warfare analysis in support of Full-Spectrum Operations.
• Developing Cyberspace operations and plans for the Joint Warfighter.
• Leveraging proficiency in computer network topology, protocols, and network communication pathways.
• Analyzing how physical and logical computer networks function, interrelate, and transmit data across diverse environments, including understanding the transition of data across different network types (LANs, WANs, wireless) and deployment platforms (on-premises systems, cloud services, hybrid infrastructures, and remote locations).
• Using appropriate databases, geospatial data, and resources to manage customer relationships, determine customer needs/requirements, and/or manage customer expectations.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS/GG-11). No substitution of education for experience is permitted for this job.
