Intake Manager

Responsibilities

Receives incoming admission inquiry calls, assesses patients for admission, and makes appropriate referrals.

Participates in staff evaluation, shift leadership, and provides task assignment and accountability necessary to complete all admissions related duties for their shift.

Qualifications

• PREFERRED: Registered Nurse, Master’s degree in psychology, sociology, or a related field, or RN license to practice nursing in the state of Arkansas.
• Total Education, Vocational Training, And Experience: Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing required. Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility preferred. Prior management experience preferred.

• Ability to assess the physical, emotional, and psychological needs of patients.
• Ability to determine suitability of admission to the hospital based on clinical and financial criteria.
• Ability to prioritize and assign tasks and hold staff responsible for their completion.
• Ability to utilize computer generated reports to analyze data and make decisions.
• Ability to make independent and responsible decisions.
• Good knowledge of admitting and insurance verification.
• Must have ability to work under stressful circumstances with frequent interruptions.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills are required to communicate with patients, families, referral sources, community agencies, and staff.
• Knowledge of telephone etiquette is required.
• Must be able to interact with patients, physicians, families and hospital personnel in a professional and courteous manner.
• Work is of medium demand, requiring heavy telephone and personal contact with patients, referral sources, community agencies, and insurance companies.
