Intake Investigator
About the role
Under the supervision of a Deputy Labor Commissioner Supervisor (Senior Deputy) or designee, the Labor Compliance Representative conducts intake investigations and/or less complex assignments for settlement conferences or inspections. They coordinate intake workshops or clinics to ensure claims filed by workers are complete, perform referrals to other units, educate the public on labor laws, and apply theories to assess violations in wage claim processing. Additionally, they enforce wage and hour laws within the WCA program.
Responsibilities
- Conducts intake investigations and/or less complex assignments for settlement conferences or inspections.
- Captures and coordinates intake workshops or clinics to ensure claims filed by workers are complete.
- Performs referrals to other units and educates the public on labor laws.
- Applies theories to assess violations in wage claim processing.
- Enforces wage and hour laws within the WCA program.
