Key Responsibilities
- Conduct and complete all patient intakes in a timely and professional manner.
- Gather comprehensive medical histories, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of patient information.
- Clearly and warmly explain program details, expectations, and next steps to patients.
- Support administrative tasks and chart preparation for our Mend Physician Services patients.
- Complete all necessary intake paperwork and ensure proper documentation in the system.
- Manage a large volume of daily intakes while maintaining a high standard of quality and care.
- Communicate effectively with clinical and enrollment teams to ensure a seamless patient onboarding process.
- Provide additional support for the clinical care navigators, such as but not limited to: administrative tasks, reviewing responses, and sending out messages.
- Work collaboratively with team members to identify and resolve any intake-related barriers.
- Maintain flexibility — able to prioritize, pivot, and adapt as patient or team needs change.
- Uphold compliance with HIPAA and all organizational policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Medical Assistant (MA) — National Certification required.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish preferred, not required) – highly valued for patient communication.
- Minimum 2 years of healthcare or patient intake experience, ideally in a remote or hybrid setting, preferred, not required.
- Prior proven ability to manage multiple tasks and high patient volumes efficiently.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a personable and empathetic communication style.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote environment, using electronic medical record (EMR) systems or similar platforms.
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in computer systems, telehealth platforms, and secure communication tools.
- Prior experience in a virtual care or telehealth environment (preferred).
- Strong sense of accountability and teamwork.
- Passion for helping patients feel supported and understood during their healthcare journey.
Compensation and Schedule
- Position Type: Full-Time
- Hourly Rate: $18-22/hour
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, with flexibility to accommodate patient scheduling needs.
