About the role

As a Navigator I in our Outreach and Enrollment Department, you will enroll and assist individuals, families, and small businesses in our community with health insurance through the NY State of Health Health Plan Marketplace. This position is primarily stationed in Corona, Queens.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and enroll individuals, families, and small businesses with health insurance coverage through the New York State of Health.
  • Educate individuals and families about the types of health insurance programs offered through the New York State of Health.
  • Assist, educate, and enroll small businesses about the New York State of Health Small Business Marketplace.
  • Attend community events, health fairs, etc., and build community partnerships to foster relationships.
  • Educate the community about the services provided by the Navigators.
  • Conduct outreach activities to identify uninsured individuals.
  • Meet requirements set by the funding source and the agency, including programmatic monthly and daily reports.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is required.
  • 1+ year of general healthcare experience required.
  • Knowledge of the Affordable Care Act.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Experience with data entry.

Previous experience as a Facilitated Enroller, IPA Navigator, or other enrollment-based healthcare positions is a plus, though this is an entry-level role and training will be provided.

Schedule

Onsite, Monday - Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM with occasional Saturdays (only for special events). Must be comfortable working and training in the Bronx prior to going to the Queens location.

Pay

Starting compensation: $20.67 per hour.
