Insurance and Financial Services Litigation Associate - Los Angeles Area

Burke, Williams & Sorensen is a Full-service Law Firm With Deep Expertise In Litigation, Including Involvement With ERISA, Disability, Life, Health, Long-term Care, Fraud, And Employer-plan Benefit Matters. We Are Seeking An Associate With 3-5 Years Of Litigation Experience To Join Our Expanding Team.

Responsibilities

• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests/responses, subpoenas, and additional litigation documents
• Engage with in-house clients, experts, third-party administrators, opposing counsel, and witnesses
• Review, investigate, and assess factual and legal aspects of claims
• Take and/or defend depositions
• Aid in trial and arbitration preparation, including preparing motions in limine, jury instructions, trial briefs, exhibits, and witnesses for testimony

Requirements

• Excellent writing, research and analytical skills
• Strong work ethic, self-starter, and team-oriented
• Admission to the State Bar of California

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

• 3-5 years of litigation experience
• Experience with ERISA, disability, life, health, long-term care, fraud, and employer-plan benefit matters

• Strong legal writing and research skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

Pay

The anticipated base salary range for this full-time role is $158,000 – $190,000 plus annual performance-based bonuses. The actual salary within that range will depend on the selected candidate’s years of practice and experience.
