Responsibilities
- Prepare students for the state Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance Producer Licensing Examination.
- Provide a detailed overview of insurance concepts, policy structures, state regulations, and the responsibilities of licensed producers.
- Equip students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to meet state licensing requirements and begin a career in insurance sales, underwriting support, customer service, or agency operations.
- Prepare students for the Life & Health Insurance Producer Licensing Examination.
- Introduce key insurance concepts and provide a thorough understanding of life insurance, health insurance, annuities, and state regulatory requirements.
- Study life insurance products, including term, whole, and universal life, alongside health insurance plans, including medical, disability income, long-term care, and supplemental coverage.
- Cover group benefits, federal health programs, and the underwriting and claims processes.
Requirements
- Active South Carolina Insurance Producer License in the applicable line(s) of authority.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of professional insurance industry experience.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to teach adult learners in classroom and/or virtual settings.
Qualifications
- Minimum qualifications include an active South Carolina Insurance Producer License and 3–5 years of professional insurance industry experience.
- Preferred qualifications include knowledge of property & casualty insurance fundamentals and risk management, property & casualty policies and coverages, state laws, regulations, and producer responsibilities, underwriting and claims processes, life insurance products (term, whole, universal life), annuities and retirement products, health insurance plans (medical, disability income, long-term care, supplemental), group benefits and federal health programs, and regulatory and ethical requirements.
