About the role
The Instructor (Part-time) for The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI - RU) at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is responsible for handling course creation and content delivery during scheduled programs.
Responsibilities
- Handles course creation and content delivery during any of the prescheduled programs that run throughout the year.
- Courses typically meet in person for 90 minutes once a week throughout New Jersey, but may also meet remotely via Zoom and in-person as conditions allow.
- Prescheduled programs can range from one-day to ten-weeks in length.
Requirements
- Teaching in one or more of the following areas (but not limited to): Art, Art History, Computer Science, Contemporary Issues, Crafts, Environmental Science, Film Studies, History, Music, Music History, Philosophy, Poetry, Political Science, Psychology, Science – Biology, Physiology, Astronomy, etc., and Writing.
Qualifications
- Experience teaching adult learners.
- Ability to engage participants in a variety of teaching formats, including facilitated discussions, informational lectures, hands-on instruction, and field trips.
Skills
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to remote and in-person teaching environments.
