About the role
The Industrial Insulator will layout, fabricate, assemble, install, and repair insulation and sheet metal around pipes, maintenance parts, fittings, equipment, and systems.
Responsibilities
- Install temp mat and pads and install pipe covering and fittings (Calcium Silicate).
- Form sheet metal materials around pipes, ductwork, and industrial equipment.
- Install insulation and fittings, pipe cover and board materials, such as perlite and calcium silicate.
- Install sheet metal around insulated pipes with screws/bands to protect the insulation from weather conditions or physical damage.
- Make flat sheet metal layouts of finished parts, including sheet metal "square-to-round" transitions, offsets, flashing, tapered elbows, transitional elbows, "Y" branches, and compound fittings.
- Brush adhesives and mastic application to insulation material.
- Measure and cut metal material to specified size and shape for covering flat or round surfaces using a tape measure or other measuring device.
- Use hand tools and equipment to form, crimp, or roll metal in place.
- Perform work wearing personnel protective equipment, including but not limited to: rain gear, chemical protective clothing, supplied air and air purifying respirators, safety harness, fire-resistant coveralls, hard hat, ear plugs, and safety glasses.
- Perform physical tasks requiring full range of mobility in upper and lower body, including reaching overhead, stooping, standing, bending, sitting, kneeling, squatting, climbing stairs, working at heights, balancing for extended periods, and lifting a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Climb ladders.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 3 or more years of experience as an Industrial Insulator.
- Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check as a condition of employment.
- Must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States; Austin is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position.
Qualifications
- Education: No minimum education requirements.
- Experience: 3 years of Insulator experience.
Schedule
Full-time maintenance job working 40 hours a week (4/10's schedule).
