About the role

This is a full-time maintenance position working 40 hours a week on a 4/10 schedule (four 10-hour days). There is no per diem or relocation funding provided.

Responsibilities

• Layout, fabricate, assemble, install, and repair insulation and sheet metal around pipes, maintenance parts, fittings, equipment, and systems.
• Install temperature mats, pads, pipe covering, and fittings (Calcium Silicate).
• Form sheet metal materials around pipes, ductwork, and industrial equipment.
• Install insulation and fittings, pipe cover, and board materials such as perlite and calcium silicate.
• Install sheet metal around insulated pipes with screws/bands to protect insulation from weather or physical damage.
• Create flat sheet metal layouts for finished parts, including "square-to-round" transitions, offsets, flashing, tapered elbows, transitional elbows, "Y" branches, and compound fittings.
• Apply adhesives and mastic to insulation material.
• Measure and cut metal material to specified size and shape for covering flat or round surfaces using tools like tape measures.
• Use hand tools and equipment to form, crimp, or roll metal in place.
• Perform work while wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to: rain gear, chemical protective clothing, supplied air and air-purifying respirators, safety harness, fire-resistant coveralls, hard hat, ear plugs, and safety glasses.
• Perform physical tasks requiring full range of mobility in upper and lower body, including reaching overhead, stooping, standing, bending, sitting, kneeling, squatting, climbing stairs, working at heights, and balancing for extended periods.
• Climb ladders and lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 3 or more years of experience as an Industrial Insulator.
• Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check as a condition of employment.
• Must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States; Austin Industrial is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position.

• 3 years of Insulator experience.
