About the Role
Celanese is seeking an Instrumentation Technician to join our maintenance team in Bishop, TX. This role involves installing, calibrating, testing, and troubleshooting a wide range of instrumentation and control systems.
Responsibilities
- Install, calibrate, test, troubleshoot, and functionally check instruments, control systems, final control elements, control valves, switches, levels, temperatures, and flows.
- Install, test, troubleshoot, and repair motor controls, PLCs, and relays.
- Use test equipment, multimeters, loop calibrators, communicators, computers, and hand tools.
- Troubleshoot ladder logic.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings and P&IDs.
- Maintain drawings to reflect any modifications.
- Work directly with vendors, operations, and the reliability group to resolve problems.
- Participate in site-wide Process Safety and Risk Reduction initiatives.
- Create and update accurate reports using SAP.
- Complete all written and electronic records, calibration sheets, work orders, and document work in progress as it is completed.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- Basic computer skills, including MS Office applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Detail-oriented with problem-solving skills and the ability to organize and prioritize work assignments.
- Knowledge of general and specific maintenance disciplines, typically gained through a technical associate degree.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and scheduled on-call duties.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in instrumentation, analyzers, and/or electrical systems (preferred).
- Instrumentation associate degree (preferred).
- NCCER Instrumentation certification (preferred).
