Instrumentation Technician, Maintenance

About the Role

Celanese is seeking an Instrumentation Technician to join our maintenance team in Bishop, TX. This role involves installing, calibrating, testing, and troubleshooting a wide range of instrumentation and control systems.

Responsibilities

• Install, calibrate, test, troubleshoot, and functionally check instruments, control systems, final control elements, control valves, switches, levels, temperatures, and flows.
• Install, test, troubleshoot, and repair motor controls, PLCs, and relays.
• Use test equipment, multimeters, loop calibrators, communicators, computers, and hand tools.
• Troubleshoot ladder logic.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings and P&IDs.
• Maintain drawings to reflect any modifications.
• Work directly with vendors, operations, and the reliability group to resolve problems.
• Participate in site-wide Process Safety and Risk Reduction initiatives.
• Create and update accurate reports using SAP.
• Complete all written and electronic records, calibration sheets, work orders, and document work in progress as it is completed.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Basic computer skills, including MS Office applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
• Detail-oriented with problem-solving skills and the ability to organize and prioritize work assignments.
• Knowledge of general and specific maintenance disciplines, typically gained through a technical associate degree.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and scheduled on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in instrumentation, analyzers, and/or electrical systems (preferred).
• Instrumentation associate degree (preferred).
• NCCER Instrumentation certification (preferred).
