Responsibilities
- Maintains a safe and well-organized work environment.
- Performs minor electrical repairs and installs alone or as part of a team.
- Completes and submits required documentation in an accurate and timely fashion.
- Utilizes on-the-job training of all shop mechanic personnel.
- Installs pneumatic tubing, lays tubing on skids, and connects to end devices.
- Fabricates bracket braces and instrument racks.
- Installs wire and cable laid by hand, and in cable trays.
- Affixes wire and cable laid by hand, and in cable trays.
- Assists with changes to panel selection, wiring, etc.
- Maintains a file of installation design and technique for new units through pictures and diagrams.
- Tests control panels and makes connections in compliance with 10lb pull tests.
- Performs unit certification, final inspection, and test document.
- Makes final electrical connections after installation of conduit and tubing.
Qualifications
- Ability to perform all assigned duties.
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems arising during the test cycle.
- Troubleshoot motor controls (energized).
- Read blueprints and read/interpret NEC.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Read General Adjustment and P&ID drawings.
- Communicate with suppliers of electrical components to design hook-ups on panels.
- Affixes wire and cable laid by hand, and in cable trays.
- Assist with mechanical assembly.
- Comply with all applicable safety and environmental policies and procedures.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems arising during the test cycle.
- Troubleshoot motor controls (energized).

- Moderate understanding of compression service and functionality to understand customer needs.
- Familiarity with MCC and switchgear.
- Working knowledge of end devices and system flow.
Minimum Education And Certification
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical training preferred.
Minimum Experience
- 1-3 years related experience.
- 2 years of electrical experience.
- Some experience in the area of electronics.
Physical Demands
- Must be fit for duty for the job tasks being performed.
- Must meet the medical requirements necessary to wear PPE required by role (includes respiratory protection medical requirements as required by role).
- Constantly required to display good manual dexterity and to reach with hands and arms.
- Frequently required to sit while driving or using a PC.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, and twist with good balance.
- Regularly required to lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds and to push and pull up to 110 pounds.
- Occasionally required to carry at least 40 pounds with one hand for at least 10 feet.
- Occasionally required to crawl, climb in and around equipment, stairs and vertical ladders.
- Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
