Instrument Tech III: HOI Surgery Center (OSCOC)
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Care, cleaning, handling and reprocessing of instruments and equipment.
- Decontaminates instruments and equipment to hospital and regulatory guidelines.
- Assembles and wraps trays for sterilization following procedures and loads and operates sterilizers.
- Uses knowledge of instrumentation, blood and body fluid precautions, disinfection techniques, and methods of sterilization to perform quality assurance monitoring.
- Documents according to policy and procedures.
- Knowledge of supplies, instrumentation, disinfection techniques, and methods of sterilization.
- Assists with orienting new hires and students and performs relief duties.
- In a professional and welcoming manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Provides coordination and assembly of surgery case carts.
- Accurately completes inventory lists for trays and surgeon preference cards, signs, and dates.
- Reviews instrument and inventory supplies, restocks, proactively identifies supply/instrumentation needs, gathers of supplies needed for a specific case, and assists with O.R. sterilization processes.

Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year experience in Sterile Processing required.
- Knowledge of surgical terminology, instrumentation, and supplies.
- Basic computer skills.
- Sterile processing and Case Cart experience.
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
