About the role
This position manages a broad spectrum of electrical work, requiring expertise in interpreting electrical diagrams/schematics, utilizing diagnostic equipment, troubleshooting electrical control circuitry and distribution equipment, and designing such circuitry. The role also involves providing emergency/unscheduled repairs and performing scheduled maintenance of production equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform diversified electrical and electronic instrumentation duties, including preventive maintenance of motors and other electrical apparatus, switchgear, MCCs, Variable Frequency Motor drives, electrical distribution and power panels in various voltage ranges.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, test and diagnostic meters, and electronic instrument calibration devices.
- Operate forklifts and/or aerial equipment.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and off hours.
- Perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during planned outages.
- Communicate with outside vendors or contractors to perform small capital project work.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and make adjustments.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance, calibration, and service.
- Read and interpret One-line drawings, electrical/electronic schematics, and related drawings/diagrams.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Conduct safety observations and reviews while adhering to safety regulations and procedures.
- Participate in the maintenance department on-call rotation schedule to service equipment failures during off-hour shifts.
- Support all AIMS initiatives and complete assigned Impact items.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or equivalent years of education and production electrical and instrumentation experience.
- Documentation of training/experience must demonstrate certification as an Electrical Qualified person (Certified Electrician).
- 4+ years of manufacturing experience, with strong electrical/electronic and industrial skills.
- A highly motivated team player who can work independently.
- Experience with digital and analog computer machine interfacing is a plus.
- Able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds consistently, with heavier weights necessary at times.
- Able to work from ladders, scaffolding, or powered lifts when required.
Qualifications
- Must be certified as an Illinois UST A/B Operator to maintain Monomer UST instrumentation.
- Responsible for updating and modifying Instrumentation and Electrical Procedures as necessary.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Comply with the HSEQ Policy, Regulations, Legal, and Internal Requirements as made known by the site and business unit (BU).
- Participate in HSEQ activities provided by the site management, Arkema Coating Resins, and Arkema, Inc.
