Instrument and Electrical Technician
About the role
The I&E Technician works as part of an onsite team and is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the Detroit hydrogen plant, its equipment, and the overall facility, reporting to the Operations Manager for Detroit and Small H2.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on the HYCO plant’s equipment, buildings, and overall facility
- Perform regular calibrations of transmitters, analyzers, and monitoring equipment
- Participate in the Compliance Management program
- Maintain PM compliance in SAP
- Perform routine upkeep of plant analyzers and monitoring equipment outside of scheduled maintenance
- Work with Operations to troubleshoot abnormal plant conditions down to the component level
- Troubleshoot, repair, and replace equipment, including (but not limited to) transmitters, valves, actuators, three-phase motors, MCC components, gas and water analyzers, and heat tracing systems
- Participate in required safety compliance tasks and inspections
- Support outage preparation and execution
Qualifications
- A high school diploma required; technical degree or higher education preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial gas equipment support or related technical roles
- Strong dedication to safety and operational excellence
- Plant maintenance experience preferred
- Instrumentation and controls experience preferred
- Proficient in SAP
- Ability to read P&ID and electrical diagrams
- Proficient with electrical test equipment
- Self-motivated, with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
- Strong administrative skills to track and handle activities
