Instrument and Electrical Technician

About the role

This role sits within Hexion’s instrument and controls team at the Sheboygan plant. The successful candidate will install, troubleshoot, maintain and document process controls equipment and instrumentation, supported by a regional controls team. You will have the opportunity to learn PLC programming and HMI interface development, interface with SAP to record job completions, and participate in plant improvement initiatives focused on safety, environmental and production processes. Additional growth opportunities include assisting other maintenance disciplines as needed to support the plant.

Responsibilities

• Configure, install and terminate instrumentation and controls per wiring schematics, loop diagrams and P&IDs.
• Perform hands-on installation, maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting for all process equipment.
• Support safety improvements and PSM activities.
• Build maintenance/equipment technical data and update equipment files.
• Interact with vendors to identify parts for ordering and delivery.
• Support capital project work.
• Provide marked-up documentation as required.
• Complete other tasks as assigned by leadership.
• Work self-motivated and collaboratively within a team.

Minimum Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment as an electronics, instrumentation or approved maintenance/electrical technician.
• Experience with pressure, level, flow and temperature related instrumentation.
• Experience with Allen Bradley PLC programming and I/O equipment preferred.
