Instrument & Electrical Technician
About the role
We are seeking an Instrument & Electrical (I&E) Technician to join our Manufacturing & Operations team at our New Johnsonville, TN site. This role supports safe, reliable operations and offers a four-day work week with 10-hour shifts.
Responsibilities
- Test, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical, electronic, and instrumentation equipment using hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on process control systems including DCS, transmitters, variable speed drives, and control loops.
- Calibrate gauges, controllers, transmitters, and other instruments in accordance with ISO and site standards.
- Perform Lock, Tag, and Try (LTT) procedures to ensure equipment is safe for maintenance.
- Maintain and troubleshoot motor control centers and motors; repair or replace as needed.
- Utilize technical documentation (prints, manuals, and specifications) for troubleshooting and repair.
- Follow all site safety, health, and environmental requirements, including proper PPE usage and vessel entry procedures.
- Collaborate with operations, mechanical technicians, engineers, and vendors to resolve instrumentation and electrical issues.
- Prepare and maintain maintenance, calibration, and compliance records for audits and regulatory needs.
- Inspect plant areas, identify needed repairs, and participate in maintenance planning, shutdowns, and overhauls.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of five (5) years of applicable industrial maintenance experience in Electrical or Instrumentation, OR
- Minimum of two (2) years of applicable industrial maintenance experience plus an Associate Degree, equivalent technical or military training, or NCCER certification.
Preferred
- Experience in chemical or high-hazard manufacturing environments.
- Experience with DCS systems, advanced instrumentation, and process control calibration.
