Responsibilities
- Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance
- Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction
- Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations
- Prepares for and holds classes (face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online)
- Maintains currency in the content area related to the teaching assignment
- Evaluates students' work, assesses student outcomes, and provides regular and substantive feedback on student work
- Maintains appropriate records and holds office hours
- May involve advising students and/or providing other service to the department
- Other duties may be assigned by the chair or dean
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in a field appropriate to the needs of the department, or significant progress toward a doctorate degree, or, in rare circumstances, post-baccalaureate certification or licensure, or a baccalaureate plus experience, can be established as appropriate qualifications for the teaching position
- Depending on the program, specific certification/licensure or clinical experience may be required
