Instructor, Industrial Training (9+3) (Tyger River Campus)

Job Responsibilities

Spartanburg Community College seeks a highly skilled and industry-experienced Workforce Development Instructor to deliver welding and industrial automation training for workforce development, continuing education, and customized industry programs.

Responsibilities

• Teach Industrial courses to a diverse student body using effective teaching strategies
• Develop, revise, and maintain course materials
• Recommend/design new programs
• Maintain office hours
• Participate in appropriate professional development opportunities
• Participate in College and community activities, promoting the mission of the College
• Develop/implement retention strategies
• Aid in graduate placement
• Aid in student advising and registration

Requirements

• Certificate in welding, mechatronics, or related field, or equivalent industry-recognized credentials
• Three years of hands-on experience in welding processes, including MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW), and Stick (SMAW) welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum materials, with experience in welding thin-gauge sheet metal and thicker materials

Qualifications

• Preferred qualifications include an Associate degree in Welding, Mechatronics, or other related fields, and five years of experience
