Instructor, Mechatronics (9+3)
Job Responsibilities
Teach Mechatronic courses to a diverse student body using effective teaching strategies; develop, revise, and maintain course materials; recommend/design new programs; maintain office hours; participate in appropriate professional development opportunities; participate in College and community activities, promote the mission of the College; develop/implement retention strategies; assist in graduate placement; attend graduation ceremony; assist with student advising and registration; serve on College committees; promote institutional goals; assist with departmental administrative responsibilities.
Teaching may be on any campus, or by distance learning, and may be days, nights, weekends, or a combination.
- TEACHING PERFORMANCE – The ability to present course materials through appropriate instructional strategies to facilitate the learning process.
- INSTRUCTIONAL DEVELOPMENT – The development, revision, and maintenance of courses and curriculum through course objectives, outlines, and appropriate materials.
- INSTRUCTIONAL MANAGEMENT – The effective use of required office hours, exhibition of effective classroom management and control, and timely and accurately submitted reports.
- STUDENT ADVISEMENT – The participation of the faculty member, when applicable, in assisting students in personal and professional development.
- PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND COLLEGE ENGAGEMENT – The participation in college and community service activities that promote the institution, along with ongoing professional development efforts designed to maintain and enhance skills, knowledge, and effectiveness in the position.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
Average of 9 years of work experience in the field of Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred.
Additional Comments
Professional development and other college activities may require overnight travel and independent study. Day, evening and possible weekend student advisement and instruction will be required.
