About the role

The Office of Academic Innovation at the University of Pennsylvania seeks an experienced Instructional Technologist specializing in online computer science education. This role will advise faculty on best practices for online teaching, manage a portfolio of approximately 5 courses, and support the program's technology needs.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of approximately five courses.
  • Provide instructional design and technology expertise for stakeholders across the program, including students, staff, faculty, and TAs.
  • Serve as an advisor to faculty on online teaching best practices.
  • Aid in fulfilling technology and logistical requests.
  • Lead and contribute to special projects that enhance instructional quality, learning experiences, and the overall technology ecosystem of the program.
  • Develop training materials and documentation, perform testing, develop workarounds, and contribute to vendor relationships.
  • Assist in the hiring, onboarding, and supervision of large teams of TAs.
  • Participate in the team's on-call evening and weekend work.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in education, technology or a related field, and a minimum of one year of related experience, preferably in higher education.
  • Master’s preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing or facilitating large online courses or working on or with teaching teams.
  • Expertise in administrating Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Canvas, LTI integrations, and associated instructional technologies.
  • Strong customer service skills, positive attitude, and attention-to-detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in a highly collaborative team environment.
  • Intermediate Excel skills.

Pay

$62,067.00 - $75,000.00 Annual Rate
