Instructional Support Assistant - Hopi ES

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assists teacher by helping with classroom instruction and working with children during instructional activities.
• Maintains children’s behavior inside and outside of the classroom.
• Cleans up and performs other related tasks following daily activities.
• Organizes classroom for activities, including preparing assignments and organizing homework folders.
• Attends meetings and in-service training sessions.
• Creates bulletin boards, maintains materials and supplies, contacts parents, and makes copies.
• Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

Licenses & Certifications

• Licensing Requirements: Title Schools - 60 hours of secondary education or successful completion of the Paraprofessional test; Special Needs - Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR certification within 30 days of employment. Valid Department of Public Safety (DPS) Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (FPCC).

Knowledge

• Knowledge Of Basic first aid;

Physical Requirements

• Positions in this class typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
• Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Incumbents may be subjected to odors, extreme temperatures, and intense noises.
