Instructional/Intervention Aide, ATS (Alternative to Suspension)

About the role

The Instructional/Intervention Aide, ATS (Alternative to Suspension) position at Highland Elementary School assists in the planning and implementation of a program for the regular and special needs of children in the classroom under the supervision of the site administrator and the direction of a certificated staff member.

Responsibilities

• Assists in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics.
• Works well with children.
• Communicates effectively with students and colleagues.
• Has experience or education in child development and working in an instructional environment.

Requirements

• Associate's degree, two years of study at an institute of higher learning, or formal academic assessment required by No Child Left Behind Act.
• CPR training.

Qualifications

• Ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics.
• Experience working with school age children.
• Experience or education in the areas of child development.

Skills

• Ability to work well with children.
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of child development.

Benefits

• Salary range: $16.90 - $19.61 per hour based on 10 steps.
• $0.32 in lieu of benefits.

Pay

• Hourly rate: $16.90 - $19.61 per hour.
• Additional $0.32 in lieu of benefits.

Schedule

• 5.75 hours per day.
