About the role
The Instructional Designer for Leadership Development plays a crucial role in creating programs and curriculum to onboard and upskill leaders throughout the organization.
Responsibilities
- Create engaging and effective learning experiences by analyzing needs, designing curriculum, developing materials, and evaluating outcomes.
- Collaborate with LED Leadership and internal stakeholders to conduct thorough assessments to identify gaps and agree upon learning objectives.
- Utilize various multimedia tools and technologies to enhance the learner's experience such as videos, simulations, and interactive elements.
- Develop and implement various assessment methods to evaluate learning outcomes and measure knowledge acquisition.
- Create a variety of learning assets including interactive eLearning, microlearning modules, virtual and in-classroom instructor-led courses, presentations, facilitator and participant guides, and job aids.
- Work closely with subject matter experts, peers, and other stakeholders to ensure content accuracy and relevance.
- Provide training and support to peers to upskill their instructional design skills.
- Continuously evaluate and refine learning materials and processes to ensure effectiveness and meet evolving needs.
- Contribute to the evolution of the instructional design process and templates used by the LED department.
- Help to define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of learning programs.
- Research and curate trends for relevant content and design with a focus on consumable learning formats and practice application.
- Ensure the quality and relevance of externally sourced learning content and services.
- Stay up to date on the best practices around onboarding, career development, and hybrid learning to uplevel the employee experience.
- Work cross-functionally within the LED department to ensure leadership principles are incorporated into all applicable programming.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field. Additional experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience developing and executing L&D programs including onboarding, leadership development and/or employee engagement programs. Minimum of 5 years of instructional design and facilitation experience focused on leadership development in a corporate environment. Experience as a team lead.
- Knowledge / Skills: Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Expertise in using Articulate products, such as RISE and Storyline, for course creation. Proficient with rapid and/or AI video development tools such as Vyond or Powtoons. Experience with virtual and in-person facilitation. Strong data analysis skills and the ability to use data to inform decision-making. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations pertaining to learning and development. Commitment to staying updated on industry trends and best practices in learning and development.
