About the Opportunity

The Instructional Designer II develops and delivers engaging training solutions for both online and classroom environments. This role supports the Training and Development department by creating multimedia, web-based, and instructor-led learning programs that strengthen employee knowledge and skills. The position contributes to organizational performance by designing effective learning experiences for manufacturing employees and supporting continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and develop multimedia learning courses for the learning management system.
  • Manage project timelines, meet deadlines, and report progress according to department protocols.
  • Troubleshoot multimedia content developed by less technical team members.
  • Create and edit video and audio components using appropriate multimedia software.
  • Maintain media repositories and other departmental learning resources.
  • Identify opportunities to incorporate multimedia into training programs.
  • Assist with curriculum design across online, classroom, and other training formats.
  • Maintain knowledge of learning management system capabilities, features, and limitations.
  • Train staff on multimedia technologies and software best practices.
  • Design learning solutions for manufacturing employees and operational teams.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure training content is accurate and relevant.
  • Evaluate training outcomes and recommend improvements based on results and feedback.
  • Develop and deliver training on company processes, products, technologies, and procedures.
  • Work independently, adapt to organizational changes, and support department goals.
  • Stay current on instructional design methodologies, adult learning practices, and emerging technologies.
  • Ensure training documentation is accurate, consistent, and properly formatted.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and travel as needed.
  • Manage web content and department portals through SharePoint.
  • Develop newsletters, articles, and other written communications as needed.
  • Monitor company systems, equipment, and business protocols supporting training operations.
  • Lead and supervise selected contributors and provide leadership support in the absence of managers.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar instructional design or training role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience managing people or projects.
  • Preferred 4 years of experience in the relevant field and position.
  • Preferred 4 years of experience managing people or projects.
  • Proficiency with adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
  • Experience with Articulate 360 Suite, Vyond, Camtasia, and Microsoft Office applications including PowerPoint and SharePoint.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite applications such as InDesign, Captivate, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects, and Acrobat.
  • Strong multimedia design skills, including audio editing, voiceover production, and video development.
  • Understanding of general instructional design concepts and learning technology.
