Instructional Designer
Responsibilities
- Outline, write, and edit clear, accurate, and engaging text content for eBooks and other digital products.
- Collaborate with photographers, videographers, graphic artists, project managers, and app engineers to produce cohesive digital learning and communication materials.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients at their job sites across the United States.
- Travel to client locations to gather information, conduct interviews, and capture on-site details needed for technical content and media.
- Assist in directing and producing media content, including photos and videos that feature client workers and team members.
- Ensure written materials follow established style guidelines and citation standards, including AP or Chicago style.
- Apply technical understanding to accurately describe processes, systems, or equipment in a way that is accessible to the target audience.
- Review and revise content for clarity, consistency, grammar, and overall quality before publication.
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, managing multiple projects and deadlines.
- Contribute creative ideas to improve digital products and enhance the overall user experience.
Requirements
- Proven technical writing skills with the ability to outline, draft, and edit clear and concise content.
- Strong technical understanding to accurately interpret and explain complex information.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite to support the creation and refinement of digital content.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, including grammar, structure, and tone appropriate for professional materials.
- Familiarity with either AP or Chicago citation style and the ability to apply style guidelines consistently.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with photographers, videographers, graphic artists, project managers, and app engineers.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced team environment and managing multiple priorities.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to approximately 25% of the time to client sites across the United States.
Qualifications
- Background or interest in engineering or construction, with the ability to understand technical concepts.
- Experience or interest in graphic design to support visually engaging content.
- Openness to candidates with a wide range of years of experience and professional backgrounds.
- Comfort directing or assisting in the production of photos and videos in field environments.
- Ability to adapt quickly, wear multiple hats, and contribute across writing, media, and client-facing activities.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00/hr.
