About the role

The Science Instructional Coach will engage with the rest of the Curriculum and Instruction team in planning, organizing, communicating, and monitoring evidence-based services with project partners. The incumbent will oversee project management, participant management, and development of high-quality resources to support educators' professional growth in student-centered instructional practices, impacting student academic readiness.

Responsibilities

• Professional Learning Facilitation
  • Design, organize, and deliver professional learning opportunities for sponsored program participants.
  • Deliver engaging professional learning sessions, workshops, and seminars that address instructional learning goals.
  • Utilize various instructional methods and adult learning principles to cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Provide one-on-one coaching and mentorship to stakeholders to enhance their skills and professional growth.
  • Utilize instructional technology tools to support online and blended learning opportunities; stay current with e-learning trends and best practices.
  • Promote professional learning opportunities to employees and encourage participation through various communication channels.
• Evidence-Based Design
  • Support the sponsored project's adaptation of evidence-based practices through systematic search, review, and synthesis of existing literature.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define research questions for literature reviews.
  • Develop comprehensive search strategies to identify relevant literature sources.
  • Collect, organize, and catalog literature sources; evaluate quality, relevance, and credibility.
  • Summarize key findings and insights; identify common themes, trends, and gaps in existing knowledge.
  • Offer evidence-based recommendations to guide decision-making and project services.
• Instructional Design
  • Create, develop, and implement effective professional learning materials and programs aligned with project goals.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify learning needs and performance gaps.
  • Define clear and measurable learning objectives for each instructional program.
  • Design comprehensive curricula or professional learning programs covering identified objectives.
  • Develop educational content, including written materials, multimedia presentations, videos, e-learning modules, and assessments.
  • Select appropriate instructional methods and strategies for diverse learning styles.
  • Utilize instructional technology to enhance the learning experience.
  • Ensure instructional materials comply with relevant laws and accessibility standards.
  • Prepare and support professional learning facilitators in implementing instructional programs.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, instructional designers, artists, writers/editors, and facilitators to align instructional design with project goals.
• Communications
  • Manage and facilitate effective internal and external communications.
  • Engage in internal communication strategies using email, Microsoft Teams, and team meetings.
  • Manage external communications with students, families, educators, school leaders, and partners.
  • Develop and distribute content, including written materials, graphics, presentations, and multimedia.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders to keep them informed and engaged.
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop and execute communication strategies supporting project objectives.
• Evaluation and Reporting
  • Measure and assess the team's implementation of services to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Collect data from field services and participant feedback.
  • Utilize reporting systems to document and communicate evaluation findings to stakeholders.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of services, partner interactions, and evaluation processes.
  • Implement key performance indicators (KPIs) aligned with sponsored research goals.
• Project Management
  • Support the planning and execution of the team's projects and initiatives.
  • Execute assigned project tasks in accordance with the project plan and timelines.
  • Engage in communication channels to inform stakeholders about task progress.
  • Foster positive relationships with project stakeholders, addressing their needs and concerns.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in education or a related field.
• 60 months of K-12 education experience, including classroom experience and 24 months in developing instructional products.

Qualifications (Preferred)

• Master’s degree in education or a related field.
• 60 months of K-12 education experience, including secondary science classroom experience and 36 months as a building leader, team leader, department chair, or curriculum coordinator.

Pay

Pay range: $45,600.00 to $60,400.00 based on experience.

Schedule

Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (may include some weekends). Travel required.
