Instructional Coach
Major Function
Responsible for providing mentoring and support for new Pepin Academies’ teachers to get acclimated to our culture and understanding the best practices that underscore our mission. Provide guidance and coaching for all teachers to navigate the needs of their classrooms, and the alignment with our curriculum, to support teacher needs and student achievement.
Schedule and Facilitate Regularly Scheduled New-Teacher Meetings
Support newly hired teachers as they transition into their role within Pepin Academies.
Assist Teachers in Understanding Pepin Academies’ Mission and Vision
Support the instructional development of all teachers in understanding appropriate educational resources and varied assessments.
Adapt Appropriate Coaching Methods Based on Teacher and Course While Supporting Accountability Demands
Aid teachers with resources, materials, tools, information, etc. to support classroom instruction and planning, including new resources.
Provide Direction and Coordination for How the Curriculum is Taught
Share multiple instructional strategies/processes with teachers during planning times, before and/or after school.
Informally Observe (Non-Evaluative) Lessons and Provide Feedback for a Teacher’s Professional Growth and Students’ Success
Model instructional practice in classrooms on a daily/weekly basis.
Develop Coaching Plans for Teachers to Support Student Improvement
Provide informal professional development to staff focused on instructional delivery.
Build Strong Relationships with Teachers, Administrators, and Other Coaches
Motivate and encourage teachers through on-going feedback.
Attend Weekly Administrative Meetings to Provide Updates on Performance and Collaborate to Identify Instructional Challenges and Solutions
Attend summer training sessions.
Required Skills & Experience
- At least 5 years of teaching experience in a classroom setting
- At least 3 Highly Effective ratings in Instructional Performance
- Experience in instructional mentoring is preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- In-depth knowledge of differentiated instruction, best practices and evidence-based instructional strategies for ESE students
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field is required.
- Master's degree in Education or related field is preferred.
- Valid State of Florida Teaching Certificate in the area of ESE
- Willingness to pursue professional development aligned with the roles and responsibilities of the position.
