Instructional Coach

Qualifications, Experience and Competencies

• At least five years' experience
• Must have received tenure as a teacher
• Hold a valid teaching certificate
• Experience working with an administrator on curriculum and pedagogy
• Deep knowledge of and experience with implementing instructional leadership practices at the building level

Duties and Responsibilities

• Works with teachers to improve the quality of lessons and student education
• Helps teacher colleagues in pedagogy as a teacher peer
• Models continuous improvement and lifelong learning
• Conducts analysis of formative and summative student data and makes recommendations to augment and/or modify instruction
• Uses observation and achievement data to identify professional development needs
• Affords assistance in the design and delivery of site-based professional learning
