Responsibilities

  • Instructional Coaching and Staff Development
  • Mentor DSAP teachers and ensure they are supported in their professional development and compliance expectations.
  • Offer targeted support to LTS teachers to ensure instructional consistency during vacancies or transitions.
  • Provide real-time feedback and support to Assistant Teachers (ATs) and 1:1 instructional staff.
  • Instructively cover and ensure continuity in classrooms when vacancies exist, following instructional plans and meeting student needs.
  • Assist in lesson planning and delivery aligned with individualized education program (IEP) goals and academic standards.
  • Assist with student performance data collection and analysis to inform instruction and IEP development.
  • Ensure compliance with state guidelines and outplacement policies by monitoring and promoting instructional practices.
  • Support instructional leadership at up to three school sites, collaborating with school teams and leadership to strengthen instructional programs and ensure regulatory and programmatic compliance.
  • Collaborate with staff, families, and service providers to support student achievement.
  • Communicate regularly with the School Director regarding programmatic needs and progress.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in special education required (valid teaching certification in lieu of an advanced degree).
  • Valid teaching certification required.
  • Demonstrated success in instructional coaching or staff mentoring roles.
  • Knowledge of state and federal special education laws (e.g., IDEA, Section 504).
  • Experience with data-driven instruction, assessment practices, and compliance documentation.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to run short distances and move swiftly in response to student needs, including bending, kneeling, and crouching.
  • Ability to lift and assist students with mobility challenges, often requiring the handling of up to 50 pounds or more.
  • Skill in managing fine motor tasks, such as helping students with writing, manipulating small objects, or using adaptive devices.
  • Ability to operate a computer or tablet for up to 8 hours daily.
  • Capacity to notice and respond to non-verbal cues from students.

Pay

USD $45,000.00 - USD $55,000.00 /Yr.
