Job Summary
Under general supervision, this entry‑level technical instructional assistant provides instructional support and services to students with mild to moderate disabilities. The assistant typically works in a classroom setting, supporting students in general education who are on a 504 plan or Individualized Education Program (IEP). Duties may include academic and behavioral support in various subjects and activities such as math, English Language Arts (ELA), playground supervision, physical education (P.E.), and music.
Requirements
- Passing the CBEST, or
- Completion of two years of college (48 units), or
- An AA degree or higher, or
- Passing the District proficiency exam in mathematics, reading, and writing prior to the job posting closing date.

Schedule
3.7 hours per day, 11:20 AM – 3:02 PM, 5 days per week, 9.5 months per year.
Pay
Hourly range: $20.07 – $25.59 (Range 26). External candidates start at Steps A–C based on verified previous experience. Current regular employees are placed at the lowest step of the new range that provides a raise of approximately 5%, within the constraints of the salary schedule.
