Instructional Assistant - up to 25 Hours/Week - Bonita Canyon (Current Employees)

This position is only available to current employees of Irvine Unified School District who have passed their 6-month probationary period. Applications from external candidates will not be considered.

About the role

Under the supervision of the Principal, assists a certificated teacher in reinforcing instruction to individual or small groups of students in an assigned classroom; assists in the preparation of instructional materials and implementation of lesson plans; provides routine clerical support and performs related work as required.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school and some experience working with children in an educational or organized setting
• If not currently an Instructional Assistant (IA) with IUSD, provide one of the following:
  • Proof of passage of the CBEST
  • Proof of an AA degree or higher from an accredited institution in the US
  • IUSD Proficiency Test with passing scores of 70% in all sections
  • ACT Test Scores with at least 23 in Math and 22 in English
  • SAT Test Scores with at least 550 Math and 500 English

Incumbents are encouraged to participate in courses, seminars, and workshops in the area of instructional services, psychology, or guidance.

Schedule

• Up to 25 hours per week (two openings: one at 25 hours, one at 20 hours)
• 10 months per year
• Part-time employment

Pay

Salary range: $18.67 to $23.27 per hour
