About the Role

We are seeking Instructional Assistants for Mild/Moderate and Moderate/Severe support positions.

  • IA Mild/Moderate: 28.75 hours per week, $22.31 - $27.13 per hour (Range 25, 5 steps). Per the CSEA contract, hiring may be made up to step 3.
  • IA Moderate/Severe: 28.75 hours per week, $23.49 - $28.55 per hour (Range 30, 5 steps). Per the CSEA contract, hiring may be made up to step 3.

Length of work year: 9.6 months/year. Employment type: Part-time.

Requirements

Job descriptions for the two positions, including experience and educational requirements, can be found on the Fountain Valley School District website.

  • Candidates who have already passed the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) test will not need to retake it but must contact Lisa at ocainl@fvsd.us to verify scores before the test.
  • Applicants needing reasonable accommodation for interviewing or testing must notify the Personnel Department at (714) 843-3228 prior to the testing date.

Examination Process

All applicants will be invited to attend the No Child Left Behind written test. Information about testing will be communicated via email. The test will be held at the Fountain Valley School District Office, 10055 Slater Avenue, Fountain Valley, CA 92708. Please bring a valid photo ID such as a driver’s license or passport.

Applications will be screened for minimum qualifications following the written test. This examination process is being conducted to add to substitute lists as well as to fill current and future vacancies. Candidates who pass each part of the written test and the oral interview will be considered for hire.

Pay

  • IA Mild/Moderate: $22.31 - $27.13 per hour (Range 25, Step 1-5).
  • IA Moderate/Severe: $23.49 - $28.55 per hour (Range 30, Step 1-5).

Per CSEA contract, hiring may be made up to step 3.

Schedule

  • 28.75 hours per week.
  • 9.6 months per year.
