About the role
Per Scholas seeks a dynamic, team-oriented individual to serve as an Instructional Associate. The Instructional Associate will play an essential role in our organization’s mission as they train Per Scholas learners to be outstanding entry and mid-level technicians.
Responsibilities
- Classroom Facilitation
- Using a structured and approved curriculum, assist the Technical Instructor in conducting technical training to prepare learners for entry to mid-level Information Technology jobs.
- Technical training competencies include but are not limited to hardware, software, networking, security, server, mobility, virtualization, cyber security, web development, quality assurance, and project management.
- Absorb and prepare for lessons as needed, ensuring all equipment loaned to or used by the learners is returned to the instructor, the storage closet, or the person from whom it was borrowed.
- Utilize an in-house Learning Management System for assignments, tests, real-time performance monitoring, and assisting in entering learner attendance/grades/scorecards.
- Coordinate closely with learners’ instructors and career coaches on enforcing program rules and promoting learner success.
- Implement individualized study plans for learners who are struggling in the class.
- Participate in all required learner progress meetings with other members of the team.
- Maintain learner class attendance, dress code, and other program policies.
- Managing Learner Performance
- Provide learners with ongoing feedback, recognize any challenges early, and work with the instructor and/or coaches and learners to overcome them.
- Participate in real-time learner data entry in Salesforce and/or Canvas.
- Administrative
- Attend staff meetings.
- Conduct real-time learner data entry in Salesforce and/or Canvas.
Qualifications
- Graduate of a Per Scholas Training Program
- Obtained all certifications offered in the training course in which you participated
- Ability to teach in a highly interactive and hands-on style
- Passion for teaching others
- Flexibility to adapt to changes in schedule
- Interest in being part of a culture of continuous improvement
- Team oriented
- Highly responsive communicator
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Tech-savvy and can learn quickly

Pay
The hourly rate for this position is $21/hour.
